FAA Shuts Down El Paso Airspace, Cites Mexican Cartel Drone Threat
On Tuesday, the air space closed in El Paso, Texas. This closure creates too much chaos not only for passengers but also for local officials. The Trump administration stated that this action was mandatory to prevent the entry of Mexican cartel drones in USA airspace, while some claimed that the closure was due to the disagreement between the FAA and the Pentagon over the testing of a new military laser designed to shoot down drones.
The Mayor of El Paso and local officials are disappointed that the move was without any prior information and that impacted emergency flights.
